As part of activities marking the 2025 National Police Day celebration, the Zamfara State Police Command has launched a free medical outreach in Gusau, underscoring the Force’s growing role in community development and public service.
The initiative, held in the state capital, featured a dedicated team of medical professionals from the Nigeria Police Force who delivered a range of essential healthcare services to residents. These included general medical consultations, screenings for HIV and Hepatitis A, B, and C, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, treatment for common illnesses, distribution of medications, and one-on-one health counseling.
State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, while addressing attendees, said the program was aimed at not only providing medical relief but also fostering stronger police-community relationships.
“This outreach is a reflection of our commitment to serve beyond security duties. By addressing basic health needs, we’re showing the human side of the Force,” CP Maikaba stated.
The outreach also featured health education sessions focused on disease prevention and the promotion of healthy living practices. The Commissioner praised the strong public turnout and expressed gratitude to the medical personnel, media, and community stakeholders for their support.
Many participants lauded the initiative and encouraged the Command to make such programs a recurring effort.
With the National Police Day events still underway, the Zamfara State Police Command reiterated its pledge to continue building trust and improving the quality of life within the communities it serves.
