Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-Okay) get together chief Eugene Wamalwa has criticised National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula following a court docket ruling that Kenya Kwanza shouldn’t be the bulk coalition.

Wetang’ula’s determination was reversed by a ruling made by the High Court that consequently declared that Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance is certainly the bulk group.




Wamalwa added that the choice on which coalition is almost all or not must be made by the voters.

“To be the bulk or the minority shouldn’t be the choice of Parliament or of the courts however of the folks, in whom the sovereign energy rests beneath Article 1 of our Constitution.

“We thanked the folks of Kenya, together with the folks of the Lower Eastern Region, with whom we condoled immediately the passing of Daniel Kimanzi at Kwa-Vonza, for making the choice on the ninth of August 2022 that gave Azimio the bulk.

“October 6th, 2022, is, however, a day that will live in infamy as the day when the worst ruling was made by the worst Speaker in the history of our Parliament, @HonWetangula, when Kenya Kwanza attempted to subvert the will of the people by declaring themselves the majority in Parliament in toto violation of our Constitution, which attempt was thwarted by yesterday’s landmark 3-judge bench ruling,” Wamalwa mentioned in a put up on X on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Although he welcomed the ruling, the previous Devolution Cabinet Secretary mentioned the delayed judgment is akin to justice denied.

“Regrettably, the Azimio victory is a pyrrhic victory as justice is delayed by @Kenyajudiciary, which is justice denied, and it’s tantamount to shutting the stable after the two horses had fled, one in the direction of the Broad-Based Government to Okoa Zakayo and another in the direction of the Broad-Based People’s Coalition to Okoa Kenya,” he added.

He added that their focus is to type a coalition that he hopes will defeat President Ruto within the subsequent election.
