Information and Media Minister Cornelius Mweetwa says strolling out is a part of parliamentary democracy and politics.

He says some United Party for National Development (UPND) Members of Parliament and cupboard ministers walked out of Parliament as a result of Lunte Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya at all times goes to Parley with sarcasm.

“We walked out because Katotwe Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya always goes to Parley with sarcasm. We gave him a taste of his own medicine,” says Mweetwa.

Addressing the media at this time, Mweetwa says according to parliamentary process, the Executive had no obligation to answer the movement raised by Kafwaya in Parliament, because it was merely a platform for the MP to precise his issues.

“In line with parliamentary procedure, the Executive had no obligation to respond to the motion raised by Kafwaya in Parliament, as it was simply a platform for the MP to express his concerns,” he mentioned.

Some MPs from the ruling UPND, together with cupboard ministers, walked out of Parliament yesterday, February 19, 2025, when Kafwaya moved a movement to take sensible measures to scale back the price of dwelling.
