Two law enforcement officials arrested for homicide of pupil in Rumbek – Sudans Post

RUMBEK —  South Sudan’s Lakes State Police on Thursday arrested two law enforcement officials in reference to the dying of a 27-year-old pupil in Rumbek city.

Maj. Gen. Enock Majok Machar, performing commissioner of police in Lakes State, confirmed to Sudans Post the arrest of two officers who shot and killed senior four-leaver Sewat Dongrin on Thursday within the Akuac residential space of Rumbek city.

“There was an incident that happened; a senior four-leaver was killed at night, and people accused are police personnel,” Major stated.

Majok disclosed that the coed was murdered by suspected police personnel on night time patrol.

“He was killed, and the people who are accused of killing are now arrested, and they are under police custody in Akuac police station under investigation,” he stated.

He stated the arrest of the suspects followed an intense manhunt by police.

“The first mandate of the police here is security. Security of the people and their property. These are our mandates as police, and we condemned this incident.”

For his half, Dr. Teran Madit Teran, Medical Director of Rumbek State Hospital, confirmed the truth that the physique was delivered to the power at midnight.

“Upon examination, the patient was already dead, and he had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. So, when I saw the body, there were two gunshots on the upper left side, which is the entry, and the exit was also on the left side of the chest,” Madit stated.

He claimed that the coed’s severe bullet wounds prompted important bleeding, which finally led to his dying.

Meanwhile, Daniel Laat Kon Ater, Coordinator of Lakes State Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO), denounced the homicide of a pupil within the Akuac residential space.

“You know, this is a very unfortunate situation, and we appreciate the state government for apprehending the suspects behind this killing,” Laat stated.

Laat demanded that the state authorities convey the suspected police personnel to courtroom so they could face costs.
