Voters in Masembeh Ward will elect a brand new ward councillor on Saturday in a bye-election.

The by-election was triggered by the dying of former Masembeh Ward councillor Bakary Korita late final 12 months.

Heavyweights of the ruling NPP and the primary opposition social gathering UDP have travelled to Masembeh to canvass votes for his or her respective social gathering candidates.

Deputy House speaker and prime NPP official Seedy Njie, NPP’s marketing campaign supervisor Lamin Cham, data minister Dr. Ismaila Ceesay and presidential adviser Momodou Sabally had been all on the marketing campaign path on the time of penning this story.

Bakary S. Jarju of the UDP and his half-brother Lamin Jarju of the NPP are vying for the Masembeh seat.

During the marketing campaign, Bakary S. Jarju expressed confidence in retaining the Masembeh Ward and promised to ship improvement to his individuals, saying: “I know here is a UDP stronghold but come out en mass and vote for me and then go back home and wait for the declaration of our victory. My intention is to bring limitless development to this ward if elected.”

Meanwhile, NPP’s Lamin Jarju referred to as on voters to vote for the NPP for improvement, stating that the opposition lacks the means to develop the Masembeh Ward.

“The opposition can’t bring you any development. Vote for me as a representative of the NPP to benefit from various development projects in the future.” AS area.
