2022 world U20 1500m champion Reynold Cheruiyot is now specializing in the Kipkeino Classic after rising as a winner within the Sirikwa Classic on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Eldoret.

Cheruiyot gained the senior males’s 2km race in 6:01, beating Phanuel Kipkosgei Koech (6:02) and Frankline Kimutai Kosgei (6:04), who completed second and third, respectively.

Elsewhere, nationwide champion Purity Chepkwony repeated one other nice run within the senior girls’s 2km, profitable in 6:46 forward of African 800m silver medallist Lilian Odira (6:47) and Daisilah Bor (6:48).

Cynthia Chepkurui and Kelvin Kiprop Biwott gained the U20 titles.
