JUBA – South Sudan’s Jonglei State Police Commissioner on Thursday known as on dad and mom to take deliberate steps to instill ethical values of their youngsters to curb rising crime within the state.
This name was made following a rise in youth-perpetrated crimes such drug misuse, theft, and extreme alcohol consumption.
Speaking to Sudan’s put up in an interview on Thursday, Major Gen. John Bak, State Police Commissioner, urged dad and mom to play an lively position in guiding their youngsters to stop them from participating in legal actions.
“We are appealing to the community that when there is a group of criminals in their residential area, they have to report to police to enable police to rush to the scene of the crime and arrest them,” stated Bak.
Bak believed a strong household basis and parental steering are important in reworking younger folks into law-abiding adults.
He disclosed that the speed of crime has risen in the previous couple of months of 2025, including they’ve arrested greater than 30 members of the gang group in December final 12 months.
“The parents should advise their children to distance themselves from such crimes because they have a future ahead. If they go back to school, they will be our leaders later on, so there is a need for parents to educate their children to be good people.”
