‘People are tired of Sundowns’

Former Mamelodi Sundowns ace Teko Modise says the general public has misplaced curiosity within the membership’s relentless success.

TEKO MODISE SAYS PEOPLE DON’T HATE SUNDOWNS, BUT

“We work in the media space, you read articles, you read other coaches’ comments about the club,” Modise stated on The Pitchside Podcast, as per iDiski Times. “For me it’s not a big thing, but I just know the amount of disrespect Mamelodi Sundowns gets. And it’s not that people don’t like the team, they are just tired. It’s from an irritation point of view,” the previous Sundowns captain added.

MANQOBA MNGQITHI VOWS TO BOUNCE BACK

Mamelodi Sundowns’ former coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, has proven perception in himself after he was let go by the Betway Premiership champions.

“I don’t think people who speak behind cameras hurt me that much,” he confidently acknowledged on Arrows’ podcast Up Back Through Podcast,” as quoted by iDiski Times. “Because typically they don’t even have an identification. So, I’d be unfair to myself if I need to at all times really feel dangerous [about] what folks say.

The former Sundowns coach added: “We made these selections of the careers that we’re doing, and at house it’s stated ‘A car that is not moving is not barked at by the dogs’, however whenever you’re doing one thing proper, you then change into the last word goal.

“Fortunately for me, I feel the one that is aware of me higher than many individuals is sis Mato [Madlala], the proprietor of this membership. She is aware of me that I’m so thick-skinned…I don’t give a rattling about what individuals are saying.

“Because I do know my capability, and I do know what I’m able to. And I’m not in search of any… You know folks with societal stress query ‘do I fit in, do I not fit in. What do people think of me?’ I don’t have that. I’m too assured.

“I’m a powerful believer in my rules, regardless of who says what. I’m so assured about my capability as a coach.

“I do know I’ll nonetheless get one other job. It’s inevitable. It’s one thing you may’t cease. I’ll get one other job, and I’ll do properly in that job, it’s life.

“Fortunately, with God’s grace, I think I have won too much. That is the truth. When I started coaching, I always wanted to win trophies because how will it be that you are a conqueror, but you have never conquered,” concluded Mngqithi.
