Nigeria has made important strides in implementing numerous points of the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) programmes and initiatives.
Maj.-Gen. Adamu Laka, the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Centre,(NCTC-ONSA), stated this at a Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting.
The assembly was organised for the Review of Policy Framework and National Action Plan Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PF–NAP for PCVE) in Nigeria, on Wednesday in Abuja.
The PF-NAP was adopted in 2017.
Laka stated that multi-sectorial, whole-of-government and whole-of-society strategy had enabled collaboration between authorities, civil society, and worldwide companions, resulting in impactful interventions on the nationwide, state, and sub-national ranges.
According to him, despite the progress, challenges stay.
“The NCTC has been on the forefront of coordinating PCVE efforts nationwide, making certain that interventions are evidence-based, strategic, and aligned with nationwide safety aims.

“These documents will significantly enhance our collective response to violent extremism and ensure greater coordination across all levels,” he stated.
Laka urged all stakeholders together with authorities companies, worldwide companions, donors, CSOs, and neighborhood actors to actively contribute, share insights, and supply strategic help to make sure profitable revision of the PF-NAP for PCVE.
