The National Investigation Bureau (NIB) has summoned the Bono Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly often called Abronye DC.
A letter issued by the Bono Regional Commander of the NIB indicated that Abronye was summoned over an allegation he made in opposition to President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the letter, which was addressed to the NPP regional chairman, Abronye accused the president of hoarding roughly GH¢550 million meant for former appointees on the seat of presidency.
He additionally alleged corruption within the revocation of appointments made by the earlier administration.
The letter said that Abronye is to report back to the NIB workplace in Accra on February 26, 2025, to help with the investigation into his allegations in opposition to President Mahama.
“I’ve been instructed by the Director of Investigations of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to ask you to satisfy him on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at KAWUKUDU within the Greater Accra Region to help the Bureau in investigating the allegations you leveled in opposition to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.
“In the said allegations, which you made during an interview on Movement in the Morning, a breakfast show on Movement TV hosted by Kwaku Dawuro, you, Kwame Baffoe @ Abronye, claimed that President John Dramani Mahama is hoarding five hundred and fifty million Ghana Cedis (GH¢550,000,000.00) intended for dismissed appointees at the Jubilee House. You further accused the administration of corruption in the recruitment and revocation processes,” the letter said.
