Jesaya Matheus received the 2025 Rössing Marathon 42km males’s race, whereas Alina Armas received the ladies’s race at Swakopmund on Saturday.
Organised in partnership with Swakop Striders, the thirty fourth version of the occasion witnessed a file variety of 2037 athletes racing at Swakopmund together with 62,000 participating nearly in China.
Matheus received the lads’s race clocking 02:15:53 whereas Armas crossed the end line in a time of 02:45:32.
Matheus stated that successful the marathon gave him hope of someday representing Namibia at a significant worldwide competitors in future.
“My dream is to represent my country at international competitions like the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games,” stated Matheus.

“The course was tough because I wanted to run a time of below 2 hours and 15 minutes at least.”
“My training partner helped to set the pace for me on the road and then after 30km I decided to run my own race,” he stated.

Armas received the ladies’s occasion for the tenth consecutive time, in a time of 02:45:32.
“I am happy to win. It is the tenth time for me to win this marathon,” she stated.
Armas stated that she used the occasion as preparation for upcoming worldwide occasions and inspired younger and aspiring runners to coach nicely.
“We always train hard and I want to tell young ones that they must train hard going forward,” stated Armas.
Beata Naigambo (03:03:23) and Risa Dreyer (03:23:06) completed second and third respectively.
The winners of the 42km occasions each walked away with N$20,000 prize monies and an added bonus to the worth of N$20,000 every.
