The Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Justice of the Peace I.O Njie on Thursday issued an order for homicide suspect Salifu Keita to be remanded in custody at Mile II following his plea of not responsible to the costs of homicide.
Salifu Keita is alleged to have unlawfully induced the dying of 1 Abdoulie Badjie of Tunjina village on 16 February, 2025, at Kuloro village within the Western Region.
Sgt 4422 M.J. Sallah, representing the Inspector General of Police made an utility for the switch of the case to the Special Criminal Division of the excessive courtroom because the magistrates’ courtroom lacks the jurisdiction to entertain instances that entice imprisonment for all times.
The prosecution’s utility was granted and the case was consequently transferred to the High Court. Keita shall be remanded, pending his look on the Special Criminal Division of the High Court.
