Gambian Police query extra Central Bank employees over $57,800 money seizure

Police have known as in additional employees members of the Central Bank of The Gambia in an ongoing investigation into arrest of an alleged employees of the highest financial institution discovered with $57,800 and D370,000 in money.

Lamin Marong, the suspect in query, was arrested with the money on the Jenoi checkpoint by safety officers of The Gambia Drug Law Enforcement Agency final week.

This comes after a raid on Access Bank department in Brusubi by armed robbers, who stole an enormous unspecified quantity. 

The Gambia Police Force has not but stated if the 2 incidents are linked. 

However in an announcement launched right now police stated they’ve “invited some Central Bank officials to assist with the ongoing investigation” regarding the money seizure on the border.
