Gambia police tackle disciplinary motion towards ASP Binta Njie over social media remark







The Gambia Police Force has reaffirmed its dedication to upholding professionalism and moral conduct amongst its officers.

In mild of current occasions, the drive has addressed the actions of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Binta Njie, emphasising that each one personnel are certain by inner laws governing behaviour.

According to the assertion, officers are anticipated to uphold the integrity and impartiality of the Police, avoiding any actions which may tarnish the establishment’s repute.

Regarding ASP Njie’s current social media exercise, the Police have clarified that she has neither been arrested nor interrogated. Instead, the scenario is being managed administratively, following established disciplinary protocols.

The incident stems from a Facebook submit by ASP Njie, through which she criticised remarks made by Baboucarr Bahoum.

Bahoum had described residents of Kiang as “ungrateful” following the National People’s Party’s defeat to the United Democratic Party within the Massembeh by-election.

ASP Njie’s response to Bahoum’s remark led to her being summoned and questioned by the police.
