Hong stated Fintiri permitted the appointment of Töl Alheri Nyako as Töl Huba on Jan. 3, established the authorized framework, administrative construction, and governance procedures for the chiefdom.
“On Friday, Nyako will be presented with the Staff of Office as the Töl Huba by the governor,” he added.
During British colonial rule, he stated, the Huba Chiefdom confronted systemic downgrading, lowering its conventional management to an ungraded district head underneath the Adamawa Emirate.
He stated that despite a number of approvals for the chiefdom’s restoration, most notably in 1906, 1986 and 1988, none had been carried out, and makes an attempt to revive the Huba monarchy had been met with intimidation and resistance.
According to him, Fintiri additionally created further 14 districts inside the Huba Chiefdom, together with Hong, Shangui, Pella, Uding, Kulinyi, Hyema and Gaya, amongst others.
