President Adama Barrow has urged Gambians to embrace solidarity and self-reliance because the nation marks its sixtieth Independence Anniversary.
Speaking on the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Banjul, Barrow welcomed dignitaries together with Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, and the Emir of Kano.
“The theme for this Jubilee celebration, Marching in Solidarity for Self-Reliance and National Development, should be at the heart of our reflections and actions as our collective political journey progresses henceforth,” he stated.
He described the theme as a name to construct a stronger, extra affluent Gambia by honouring the previous, celebrating achievements, and dealing in direction of a brighter future with resilience and willpower.

Barrow additionally paid tribute to the nation’s founding fathers, saying their legacy ought to proceed to encourage unity and self-determination.
