Maseru, Feb. 15 — As African leaders collect for the thirty eighth African Union (AU) Summit, the decision for a visa-free continent has taken middle stage.
The AUC and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have collectively urged African governments to speed up the removing of visa restrictions that proceed to hinder regional integration, commerce, and financial growth.
This is in line with press assertion from the AU.
Speaking on the High-Level Strategic Dialogue on Accelerating Visa-Free Movement for Africa’s Transformation, on Thursday, AU officers, policymakers, and enterprise leaders highlighted the contradiction between Africa’s regional integration objectives and the truth that many Africans nonetheless want visas to journey throughout the continent.
