Almameh Gibba, the National Assembly member for Foni Kansala, has rejected a declare made by Sulayman Saho that he might have been doubtlessly bribed by the ruling authorities to vote in opposition to the diaspora voting invoice.
Mr Gibba asserted that he rejected 5million dalasis supply from a pro-FGM group for him to withdraw his personal member’s invoice that sought to legalise feminine genital mutilation.
Mr Gibba said that he would have accepted the supply if he was a grasping lawmaker, including that a few of his colleagues teased after he rejected the supply. The supply included a free visa for his household to journey and stay within the West.
“I was offered 5 million [dalasis] by a group and that they will offer another 5 million to my people. But I turned it down. I used to be invited to a secret meeting and I was offered that all my family will be given a free visa to go and live in the West,” he stated.
