Air Chief Commends NAF Troops in North-East, Vows Continued Technological Edge

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has hailed the courage and resilience of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel engaged in counter-insurgency operations in the North-East, reaffirming the military’s commitment to sustaining technological and operational superiority on the battlefield.

According to a statement released by the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the commendation came during a morale-boosting visit by the Air Chief to the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Air Marshal Abubakar praised the troops for their unwavering bravery, noting that their sacrifices are deeply valued by both the military and the Nigerian public. “Your resilience in the face of relentless threats is etched in our nation’s history and in the hearts of millions who rest easier knowing you stand guard,” he said.

The visit included strategic briefings by operational commanders highlighting recent gains in the theatre, including the impact of precision airstrikes and close air support in degrading insurgent capabilities.

Reassuring troops of the high command’s backing, the Air Chief emphasized ongoing investments in cutting-edge technologies to further enhance mission effectiveness. He also took time to personally interact with airmen and officers, reinforcing his appreciation for their frontline service and the critical role of airpower in securing national peace and stability.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the NAF leadership to maintain troop morale and assess operational effectiveness in key conflict zones.
