LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Alliance for Democracy chief (AFORD) Enoch Chihana has been caught illegally and fraudulently promoting his sister, Tawonga Kayira’s land.

Kayira alleges that Chihana offered the land with out her consent.

The improvement comes as AFORD chief can also be in courtroom for gasoline fraud case with National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA).

Writing on her Facebook web page, Taonga claims that Chihana offered the land with out the blessing of his sister, who’s at present primarily based in Kenya.

“Enoch Chihana, you don’t have any disgrace as a possible president. You fraudulently offered a plot belonging to your sister Tawonga Chihana who is predicated in Kenya and who refused that he had authorised you to promote it.

“You refused that we start work on the land and you also refused to refund the money,” mentioned Kayira, who claimed that Chihana acquired K20 million in December final 12 months,” reads the Facebook put up.

But, Chihana argues that the claims are meant to tarnish his political career ahead of the September 16 general elections.

The AFORD leader justified the selling of the land saying proper procedures were followed, including a contractual agreement.

“The agreement was that the buyer would make an initial payment of MK20 million out of the K30 million total price of the land, and upon settling the balance, the land documents would be handed over.

“However, the buyer failed to honor the agreement and went further by posting an advert on social media platforms seeking the services of sheriffs to recover the money,” justifies Chihana.

He however did not elaborate if the contract said he is to pay back the MK20 million if the buyer fails to settle the raining balance.

Chihana is one of the presidential candidates for September 16 polls.
