Gambian police launch probe after officers filmed slapping civilian

The Gambia Police Force has launched an investigation right into a viral video displaying police  officers slapping a civilian.

The video has sparked widespread condemnation. In the video, a policeman is seen slapping an unarmed man throughout an argument.

In response to the video, The Gambia Police Force described the cops’ actions as “grossly unprofessional conduct”.

“Those involved have been instructed to report to the Human Rights and Professional Standards Unit for investigation,” the assertion added.

GPF pressured that it strongly condemns such misconduct, and stays dedicated to professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights.
