Jomo threatens to report FAM to Fifa

Outspoken soccer official Isaac Jomo Osman has threatened to report Football Association of Malawi (FAM) management to FIFA if it doesn’t deal with the problems raised by some involved soccer followers.

Osman and two different soccer officers Kim Kamau and Mabvuto Chibambo, who supported the present FAM regime in the course of the December 2023 elections, lately criticised the affiliation’s Fleetwood Haiya-led management, accusing it of failing on governance points.

In an interview yesterday, Osman, who owns Ntopwa FC, Kukoma Ntopwa Women, Ntopwa Under-16 and Under-20 groups, stated: “These should not simply mere oubursts and I’ve nothing private in opposition to the present FAM management.

“But as a essential stakeholder, who runs quite a few groups in affiliation leagues, I can’t simply sit and watch when issues are going incorrect.

“We have a FAM management that’s imposing candidates for associates by venturing into door-to-door campaigns for these deemed loyal to them. We didn’t assist these folks to be doing that. They are failing their core duties and are a giant disappointment.

“Currently, youth leagues and women’s leagues are not being supported. Now I am saying if they don’t address all these issues, I will seek Fifa’s intervention and these are not mere threats. I believe I am doing it for the best interests of the game.” (The Nation)
