Passengers escape dying as Nigeria’s Max Air crash lands in Kano

A Boeing 737 plane belonging to Max Air suffered a tyre burst on the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday evening.

The plane marked 5N-MBD had 53 passengers onboard, and suffered the incident round 10.47pm.

According to a report, the plane the tyre of the aircraft was mentioned to have catch hearth instantly after touching down earlier than skiding off the runway.

One of the passengers, Aliyu Inuwa Mansir mentioned “The front tire burst into flames upon landing, filling the cabin with smoke. We had to evacuate quickly through the emergency exit. Firefighters were already dousing the flames as we got out.”

Malam Bello Ramalan, Max Air’s Kano Station Manager, confirmed that everybody onboard was safely evacuated.

He defined that the airline is collaborating with the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Aircraft and Equipment Department (AED) to find out the reason for the incident.
