Ashanti Regional Minister-Designate Frank Amoakohene to Harness Social Media for Growth – Ghana Information On-line

Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has pledged to make the most of his energetic social media presence to advertise good governance and have interaction with the individuals of the area.

During his vetting on Monday, January 27, 2025, Dr. Amoakohene highlighted the significance of leveraging his digital presence to foster growth and encourage youth participation within the area.

He emphasised that social media has turn out to be an important channel for interacting with the youth, as conventional neighborhood facilities have largely disappeared.

“In times past, when I was young, my father would send me to the community center, where they go to play, ‘Ludo’, ‘Dame’ among others. In recent times, those centers do not exist. There’s a new society known as social media, where we get the opportunity to share ideas and also to interact,” he defined.

Dr. Amoakohene assured the committee that he would use his social media presence to advertise the federal government’s agenda, whereas additionally acknowledging the necessity for steadiness.

“I want to assure the house that I’m not going to overly rely on social media. However, the platforms will be available so that the youth who would want to reach me can still send a message, and there will be a team there who will look at the messages and draw my attention, in order that I will be able to assist them when need be,” he added.

Through his energetic participation on social media, Dr. Amoakohene believes he has gained a deeper understanding of the youth within the space, enabling him to higher work together with them.
